Today, on March 13, 2023, starting at 10:00 a.m. at SHML “Shtjefën Gjeqovi” in Prishtina, the eighth edition of the school magazine “Road Safety-2023”, officially has begun. These activities from 2013 are continuously developed and coordinated by the Tempulli Academy (www.tempulli.org) together with the Kosovo Association of Motorization “AMRKS” (www.amrks.org) and are supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Municipal Directorates of Education, Kosovo Police and Kosovo Insurance Bureau.
Present at the launch of the activities of the Eighth Edition of the School Magazine “Road Safety-2023” were Professor Muhamed Krasniqi from Tempulli Academy, creator and bearer of this project, Senior Superiors from the Kosovo Police, Mr. Afrim Ahmeti and Mr. Jeton Rexhepi together with other representatives from the Kosovo Police, the Director of Public Services from the Municipality of Pristina, Mr. Ilirik Musliu, AMRKS, KIB, etc.
During the activity, awareness-raising lectures about Road Safety were held in each class, with special emphasis on the importance of knowing traffic signs and rules, and questionnaires were distributed to assess students’ knowledge about these topics.
During the past ten years, with the selection of MASHTI, 83 schools in the lower primary and secondary cycle have been visited and 7168 students have been included in lectures and tests, this time the focus of the activities with students will be upper secondary students.
According to the detailed action plan, during several weeks of March and April 2023, in each municipality, secondary and higher schools will be visited which may be more at risk due to their proximity or direct access to highways. The rest of the schools will receive online tests and questionnaires for the “Road Safety” project to be as comprehensive as possible. Meanwhile, the results of the questionnaires will be published at the end of the campaign, findings that will be able to serve the relevant institutions about improving traffic safety and taking concrete measures based on factual data.
Activities will continue for several weeks during March and April 2023.
